A warm welcome to our new Health Assistant

The Compassion Project is pleased to welcome our new Health Assistant Sachin Khokhali. Sachin is from Sindhupalchok, Nepal. He completed his HA certificate from Shankarapur Academy and is now working with us!

Here is a message from Sachin:

"I express my heartfelt thanks to the Compassion Health Centre family and all sponsors for giving me an opportunity to work in this village.

It was an exciting moment for me when I was heading towards Tsum Valley for the new challenge. I was also nervous because I was going to deal with people's health conditions alone. Even having an HA means a lot for villagers. It is so difficult for the villagers to get higher levels of health facilities as they have to walk 3 days to reach the District Hospital, ie. Gorkha Hospital.

When I reached here a the Compassion Health Centre, I was pretty shocked because I hadn't expected a place like this. The environment, nature, fresh air, views of mountains; everything is sooo cool. I also want to give ample thanks to all the members of the local community for their warm co-operation and support.

As I am working through my first months here, I am enjoying working for and with them. Because of the cold environment, I am handling a majority of cases of UTI (urinary tract infections)and lower respiratory tract infections (LRTI).

The CHD is providing a lot of health facilities for the local people and I will also give my best to serve, treat and cure diseases for the community people."

Welcome to our team, Sachin.
